About BidNet Direct
BidNet Direct is an American bid distribution service, part of SOVRA, formerly mdf commerce. It hosts the purchasing portals of thousands of member agencies, whose notices reach suppliers at the source, and aggregates a crawl of more than 90,000 agencies across the fifty states. Suppliers register free, but the free account only covers the member agencies, around 7,000 of them. The paid subscriptions add the aggregated crawl, saved searches and a daily digest, and are priced by territory: $599 a year for one state, $1,199 for three, $1,999 for the country, with a federal add-on at $149, an advertising profile at $249 and PinPoint Analytics, its awards and bid history module, at $499 a year.
Why companies move from BidNet Direct to Scoutee
Reason 1: the map is not a price list
On BidNet Direct, geography is the meter. One state costs $599 a year, three states $1,199, the fifty states $1,999, and the federal market is another $149. A contractor that opens an office across a state line reprices its subscription; a company looking at Canada or Europe has nothing to buy. Scoutee has no geographic meter at all: more than 100 official sources in more than 30 countries of Europe and North America, collected every night, deduplicated, and searched by every plan including the free one.
Reason 2: the free account is not a sample of the market
BidNet Direct's free registration reaches its member agencies, about 7,000 of them, and leaves the 90,000-agency crawl behind the paid tiers. A supplier evaluating the tool sees a slice chosen by who bought the platform, not by what it needs. Scoutee's free plan searches the whole index, every source, every country, with saved searches, one daily alert and two tender analyses a month, and it never expires. Nothing in the coverage is held back for the paid plans.
Reason 3: the documents are read, not only delivered
BidNet Direct distributes notices and their documents; it advertises no AI. Scoutee runs an analysis on the tender: it retrieves the documents from the buyer's platform and extracts the deadlines, the budget, the requirements and the criteria that would exclude the company, on one page the whole workspace shares. The free plan includes two a month, Pro a hundred, Team unlimited, with extra analyses at ten for ten euros. Reading an analysis a colleague already ran costs nothing.
Reason 4: award history without a separate module
Who won, at what price, is sold by BidNet Direct as PinPoint Analytics: $499 a year bundled with a subscription, and around $2,499 on its own. On Scoutee the award notices are part of the Team plan at 149 euros a month, which also carries ten users, unlimited analyses and priority support. Pro, at 49 euros a month, already includes the API and the MCP server, keywords translated into 24 languages, the company memory and buyer profiles.
Where BidNet Direct is strong
- Thousands of member agencies publish their notices on the platform itself, so nothing is scraped late.
- A crawl of more than 90,000 American agencies, which is a very deep view of one country.
- Prices published openly on the site, plan by plan, which most United States vendors do not do.
- A supplier advertising profile and PinPoint bid history for companies selling only in the United States.
FAQ
Does BidNet Direct cover tenders outside the United States?
Its subscriptions are American: one state, three states, the fifty states, with a federal add-on. Canada and Europe are not part of them. Scoutee indexes more than 100 official sources in more than 30 countries of Europe and North America, and every plan searches all of them, with no territory sold separately.
How much does BidNet Direct cost?
Prices are published: $599 a year or $199 a month for one state, $1,199 a year for three states, $1,999 a year nationally, both of the larger plans annual only. The federal add-on is $149 a year, the advertising profile $249 and PinPoint Analytics $499. Scoutee is 49 euros a month for Pro, 149 for Team.
Can I try Scoutee before paying?
Yes, and the free plan is not a sample: it searches every source in every country, saves searches, sends one daily alert and runs two tender analyses a month. It never expires. Pro and Team are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time.
Does Scoutee give bid history and analytics like PinPoint?
Partly. Award notices, who won what, are included on the Team plan, and buyer profile pages are in every paid plan. Scoutee does not sell competitive scoring or the American bid history depth that PinPoint Analytics holds. What it adds is the same history across more than 30 countries rather than one.
Is Scoutee's coverage really included in every plan?
Yes. Free, Pro and Team search the same index: more than 100 official sources in more than 30 countries, collected every night and deduplicated into one notice per tender. The plans differ by alerts, analyses, users and award history. No state, province or country is ever an add-on.
